You Upgrade CoreVista Web but the IT-100 Hangs at Reboot

SYMPTOM

You upgrade the CoreVista Web® operating system on the IT-100. The software downloads and installs and you get a message that the IT-100 will now reboot on the Release Notes page. Instead of rebooting, the page freezes and does not refresh.

CAUSE

This is not a malfunction. The page is not designed to refresh while the IT-100 is rebooting. To see if the IT-100 is rebooting, check the indicator lights on the front of the unit. The red hard drive activity light should be actively blinking. You may also hear a soft clicking sound from inside the unit, indicating hard drive activity.

SOLUTION

Wait several minutes until the IT-100 has rebooted. You will be able to tell because the red hard drive activity indicator light should stop blinking or blink only intermittently. Click the refresh button on your browser. You will be taken to the IT-100's login screen. Login as manager and review the Release Notes page. Afterwards, you will be able to use the new features that were installed with the upgrade.
