You restore the IT-100 from a backup and discover that not all of your configuration data was restored SYMPTOM After an IT-100 failure, you restore the data and device configuration from a backup. When you check your settings you find the hostname, network settings, firewall rules, and manager password were not restored to those recorded on the backup. CAUSE The hostname
not being restored is a known issue and will be corrected in the next
version of CoreVista Web SOLUTION The hostname not being restored will be corrected in CVW version 4.0. The manager password is not restored to prevent you from being locked out of the IT-100. Since you have to logon as manager to initiate the restore, if the restore process applies a prior manager password that is different than the one you are using, you would lose access to the device. Network settings and firewall rules are restored but not applied. This is to keep those previous settings from accidentally preventing you from connecting to the IT-100 if you are using settings incompatible with the ones on the backup. You can choose to modify those configurations or to leave them as they are. To apply the settings, reboot the IT-100. IMPORTANT The IT-100 backs up all data and configuration settings by default and you cannot change this feature. You can however, choose which types of information will be restored. If you have chosen to restore only some of the data from your backup, only your selections will be restored to the device. If you believe that data is missing after a restore, go back and check your selections to make sure they were correct.
