Straight Through Cable

Straight Through Cable is a type of Cat 5 or Ethernet Cable you use to connect two unalike devices directly such as a computer and a switch. This type of cable is most commonly used on Ethernet networks since most computers are connected through an unlike device such as a hub or switch. The IT-100 ships with a yellow Straight Through Cable. When you begin the process of setting up the IT-100, you will connect a PC or laptop to the IT-100's LAN Port with the yellow Straight Through Cable. The IT-100 is considered not like a computer because of its switching and routing features. See Cat 5 Cable, Crossover Cable, and Ethernet in this Glossary for more information.
