Port Forwarding

Port Forwarding is the method
of forwarding traffic from the network
port of one computer to another. A port
in this case is not a physical connection point but rather a virtual
network connection associated with a specific protocol
or service. For example,
the port for http web services
is port 80 and the port for DNS services is port
53. You can configure Port Forwarding on the IT-100 to allow a
user or service on the Internet to connect to a different port on a computer
inside your private network. When you create a Port
Forwarding rule on the IT-100, you are opening
that port on the device and allowing only a specific
type of traffic to connect to a port on either a particular
machine or the entire internal
network.
