Parallel Port A Parallel Port is a 25-pin physical connector usually located on the back of a computer or similar device. Data is transmitted and received in parallel rather than in single-bit sequence, allowing faster data transfers than a serial port. The most common use for a Parallel Port is to connect a PC or server to a printer. See the terms Serial Port and Server in this glossary for more information.
