Network Interface

A network interface is a physical connection port on a computer or other similar device that allows the device to be connected to a network. The IT-100 has three network interfaces; WAN, LAN, and wireless interfaces. Each interface is used to connect your device to those types of networks. WAN and LAN interfaces are physical ports on the back of the device while the wireless or WLAN interface is an antenna inside the IT-100. In most of the EmergeCore documentation, the terms network interface and network port are used interchangeably. See WAN, LAN, and WLAN in this Glossary for more information. Also see the Network sections of the FAQs and HOW TOs for additional details.
