LDAP LDAP stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol and is a set of protocols or rules that define how to access directory services over a network. Directory Services is a method for storing information in a directory on a computer or server such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and the locations of network devices such as printers and servers. This lets users on a network quickly find resources and data without having to know their specific location. LDAP can let users access directory information on both the Internet and on their internal networks.
