LAN

LAN stands for Local
Area Network and describes a group
of networked computers in an office
or company environment. You will use the LAN
port on the IT-100 to network all of the computers in your home
or office. Once you have your computers connected to the IT-100's LAN,
those computers will be able to communicate
with each other, with computers on your wireless
or WLAN network if you have configured one, and with the Internet. The LAN port (actually, four
separate ports) are assigned with the IP Address of 10.9.8.7
and Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0
by default (see IP Address and
Subnet Mask in this Glossary for
details) A LAN network is also sometimes referred to as an Ethernet
network. See the Networking sections
of the FAQs and HOW
TOs for more information.
