L2TP

L2TP stands for Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol and is a tunneling protocol similar to PPTP that allows information to be transmitted securely using VPN over the Internet. L2TP is actually an extension of the PPP (Point to Point Protocol) protocol and combines PPTP and Cisco System's L2F. The IT-100 uses L2TP in combination with IPSec to allow data to be encrypted when sent through a VPN tunnel over a public network.
