Half Duplex

Half-Duplex describes a network or other data connection that only allows transmissions from one node in one direction at a time. When a station is transmitting in one direction, the opposite station can only receive. Once the first station has ceased transmitting, the other node can respond in the other direction. A walkie-talkie conversation is an example of Half-Duplex. Only one party can speak while the other parties can only listen.
