Domain

A Domain is a collection of computers and other networked devices that share a common security and identity boundary. Domains as Internet entities, are often represented by a domain name such as www.emergecore.com and include a public website accessible from the World Wide Web. The IT-100 can host multiple domains and websites. Each domain you want to own must be purchased from an ICANN accredited site. Domain names are usually leased for a one or two-year period of time. Domains are located by the IP addresses associated with them. DNS servers such as the IT-100 and DNS servers on the Internet are responsible for making sure that anyone looking up a domain name can resolve that name to the corresponding IP address in order to actually access the site. The domains hosted on the IT-100 are not compatible with Microsoft Windows Active Directory Domains. Domains on the IT-100, in addition to websites, can provide services such as DNS, Email, FTP.
