How To Enable and Disable Specific Folders in File Sharing

The IT-100 has a file server that allows you to upload, download, store and share data on your local network. By default, there are two types of folders; the Public folder and the Home folder. The Public folder can be accessed by anyone on the network and anyone can upload, modify, and download files in that folder. Each authorized user on the IT-100 has a Home folder accessible by only that user. Any individual user can store their data in their own Home folder but they cannot access the Home folders of any other user. The Public folder and Home folders for all authorized users are enabled by default but you can manually disable or enable those shares on the IT-100. Here's how you get started:

  1. Go to CoreVista Web®

  2. Expand the File Sharing folder in the left-hand sidebar menu

  3. Click the Shares file under the File Sharing folder

  • The Shares page appears

  1. In the Pre-Defined Shares box, click the green button by the share you want to disable

  • The page will refresh and the button by the selected share will turn from green to red, indicating that it is disabled

  1. If you want to enable the share, click the red button. The page will refresh and the button will appear green, indicating that it is enabled
