How To Rename and Delete Folders in Webmail

As you saw in the tutorial How To Create
Custom Folders in Webmail, you can make any number of customized
folders in webmail. This lets you organize
your emails in a way that suits your particular needs. Once created however,
these custom folders are not necessarily
static. As your email management needs change, you can elect to
rename or even delete
folders. Here's how you get started.
Login to webmail.
Click Folders
in the overhead menu.
To rename
a folder, click the drop down arrow in the Rename
a Folder box.
Select
the folder you want to rename in the menu.
Click the Rename
button.
Type the new
name for the folder in the New
name field.
Click the Submit
button.
You are returned to the
Folders page and will see the message Renamed successfully!
at the top of the page.
NOTE: The folders list in the left-hand menu will not
show any indication of the renamed folder until the list is refreshed.
Click
the refresh folder list link right below the message.
To delete a folder from the list, follow steps 1 and 2 above and then
continue with the instructions
below.
To delete
a folder, click the drop down arrow in the Delete
Folder box.
Select
the folder you want to delete in the menu.
Click the
Delete button.
Click Yes
to delete the folder.
You can click No to back out of the process.
You are returned
to the Folders page and see the
message Deleted folder successfully!
at the top of the page.
NOTE: The folder will continue to appear in the left-hand folder list until
the list is refreshed.
Click
the Refresh folder list link right below the message.
The
list refreshes and the name of the deleted folder disappears from the list.
IMPORTANT: The
contents of the folder will
be deleted
along with the folder itself. There will be no
message warning you of this.
If you have any emails in the folder you want to save, move those emails to another location before
deleting the folder. Once the folder is gone, there is no
way to retrieve the contents.
