How To Configure Email Relaying

Normally, the mail server on the IT-100 only accepts and receives emails addressed to recipients on domains hosted on the IT-100. You can configure a feature called Email Relaying that will enable the IT-100's mail server to accept emails addressed to users on your network using a domain name not hosted by the IT-100. This is helpful when a user on your network receives emails addressed to domains hosted at different locations but who need to receive those emails at their location on your network. To configure email relaying:

  1. Go to CoreVista Web

  2. Click Email on the left-hand sidebar menu

  • The Email Relaying page opens

  1. Click the ADD button on the Allowed Hosts box

  • The Relaying Wizard launches

  1. Click Next

  • You have the option of selecting either IP Address or IP Range. Clicking the IP Address radio button will allow you to add the IP address of a single computer on your network. Clicking the IP Range radio button will allow you to add a range of IP addresses of computers on your network you want to use Email Relaying

How to Configure Email Relaying Using a Single IP Address

  1. Click the IP Address radio button

  2. Click Next

  3. Type the IP address of the computer where you want to receive relayed email. An example of an IP address is 10.9.8.7

How to Configure Email Relaying Using an IP Range

  • You can add the IP Range or the Subnet you want to use Email Relaying.

  • Note: The IT-100 by default is configured to use a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. This means that the first three octets of your IP Range represent the network address and the last octet represents the individual computer address. For example, the default LAN IP Range set by the IT-100 is 10.9.8.x . This is the address of your entire LAN. The specific IP address of the IT-100's LAN port is 10.9.8.7. When you set Email Relaying to use an IP Range, every computer on the default LAN will be involved. Computers can potentially use a range of addresses from 10.9.8.1 to 10.9.8.254

  1. Type the IP range or network address in the first three Enter an IP range fields. An example is 10.9.8.x

  2. Click Next

  • You will receive a message informing you that the IP range you specified was successfully added

  1. Click Finish
