How To Configure a Domain Using Dynamic DNS

You can host numerous domains
on the IT-100 and provide website, email, and a variety of other services
for each domain. While creating a domain involves configuring numerous
services on the IT-100, the Add a Domain
Wizard walks you through the steps in a straightforward and easy-to-follow
manner. The most common method
of providing DNS name resolution services is to have your IT-100 provide
DNS. This usually requires that you have a static
or unchanging IP Address assigned to the WAN port of your IT-100.
Sometimes, an ISP will only assign a dynamic IP Address to your WAN port
which means that your public IP address
will periodically change. While hosting
a domain usually requires associating the domain name to a fixed IP Address
so that your domain can be more easily located, it is possible to use
Dynamic DNS services so that for
example, a website
you host can be located by domain name, even
when the IP Address periodically changes.
EmergeCore in partnership with
TZO.com, makes a dynamic DNS service
available to you which will allow your IT-100 to host a domain name using
a dynamic IP address. You must have an
account with TZO to either access a free trial of their dynamic
DNS service or to purchase. To create a TZO account:
