I appreciate you keeping an eye on me and my favorite IT-100. Just thought I would tell you that we installed it a few weeks ago and everything is going well.

We converted just under 50 clients from various flavors of Microsoft Outlook to the Mozilla Thunderbird email client and imported all the old Outlook Mail folders. This allowed us to resolve some issues with older versions of Outlook and avoid being an easy target for Microsoft directed viruses and mailware. I know Thunderbird is relatively new, but most liked it better than Eudora, so we went with it.

I wasn't able to install the IT-100 as the gateway device, however, because we have an existing SSL VPN for remote support and were not successful talking the service provider into helping configure the IT-100 to be the endpoint. I configured the IT-100 to be the mail server on the internal LAN, with port forwarding for SMTP and remote administration to its WAN address. This works fine and also solved another minor issue in that we didn't want all employees to have internet access anyway.

We are on the latest version of the EmergeCore CoreVista Web® having upgraded Saturday before we began loading it with email clients.

Thanks again for your help and let Dan and Mitch know how much I appreciate the support I received from each of you. It is nice to know that both Tech-II Business Services in Saratoga NY and EmergeCore Networks are there when I need support.

Remind me how my tech support block of time works so I can plan some coordination with Tech-II down the road. I have plans to make it the gateway as soon as I can figure out the SSL issue and will want some help.
